RESEARCH CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT (RCD)

The Research and Capacity Development (RCD) division is dedicated to nurturing new and emerging researchers while expanding access to funding opportunities for postgraduate students.

Working in collaboration with faculties, departments, and other relevant units, RCD strives to:

  • Enhance the quality and quantity of accredited research outputs

  • Attract and retain high-caliber postgraduate students

  • Secure increased funding for postgraduate education and research

RCD’s key areas of responsibility include:

  • Administration of institutional and external postgraduate bursaries

  • Oversight of postdoctoral fellowship programs

  • Coordination of Research Ethics Committees (Human and Animal)

  • Organization of internal capacity-building workshops

  • Mentorship and development support for early-career researchers
